General damages only. Not a predicted payout or legal advice.

Use this accident payout calculator to look up an Irish Personal Injuries Guidelines bracket. Choose an injury area, then the category that matches the medical evidence. The result shows the published euro range, its exact source wording and the PDF page. It does not choose a category for you or predict a payment. These brackets concern general damages for pain and suffering. The Injuries Resolution Board also considers documented financial losses in its assessment process. Read the category description before comparing amounts, especially if there are several injuries or a pre-existing condition.

Adopted edition: March 6, 2021. Data as of October 5, 2026.

How it works

Displayed range = Guidelines[selected injury area][selected category]

This is a direct table lookup. No arithmetic formula estimates a settlement. The lower and upper amounts are copied from the selected guideline row, with its original bracket wording. The Guidelines explain how to identify the relevant damages bracket by reference to the injury evidence. See Use of Guidelines, PDF page 6. This tool cannot determine where an individual award belongs within the range.

Questions about this tool

How much compensation for a neck injury?

Choose a neck category to see its official bracket. The relevant description depends on the injury evidence and recovery, and the lookup does not choose an award within the range.

Can I use the back injury tool for an injury at work?

The back tool displays injury descriptions from the Guidelines. It does not decide fault, eligibility or the route for a workplace claim. Read the Board process source for application information.

Where can I compare shoulder injury compensation amounts?

The shoulder page contains the published shoulder brackets and a category selector. Its descriptions distinguish severe, serious, moderate and minor injuries.

Does a broken wrist have one compensation amount?

The wrist source separates categories by disability and recovery and includes certain fractures in its minor description. A fracture name alone does not select a bracket.

Can I look up compensation for psychological injury?

The psychiatric tool separates general psychiatric damage and PTSD. It displays source categories and cannot diagnose a condition or decide legal entitlement.

What is the Injuries Resolution Board application fee?

The Board fee tool displays the official online and postal application fees. These are application fees, rather than an amount deducted by this injury lookup.
